  • I haven't put a real post on here for quite some time, so I thought it was time to update while I watch history being made on TV.  I don't know if I will get through all of this because Chandler likes to push the keys on my laptop which usually sends me to another page.  We made it through Christmas, something we were not sure sometimes would happen.  We started the season with some sick boys.  The babies got sick around the beginning of November, with one sickness and then another back to back and we are truly just getting over that.  Chandler got Croup, Pneumonia, RSV, and then croup again.  Matthew got a stomach virus on top of his little colds.  He lost about 3 lbs while he was sick, but I am happy to report that ,as of this mornings visit to the doctor for an ear infection, he has gained it all back :)  We decided right before Christmas that the best thing to do was to take them out of Child Care and have someone watch them at home.  unfortunately, the person that was going to watch them at home fell through and now I have twin one year olds at home with no childcare.  With illness and the weeks without child care, they have been home for about two months now.  It has been very challenging.  I am not sure what I am going to do if we can't get a spot for them by the time we come back from Officer's councils.  It is very hard to find a spot for two babies.  On the happy side the break has been good for them.  They are getting better and, other than the ear infection that Choo-Choo(Matthew) has, they have not been sick since we took them out.

Cameron is doing well.  We had him tested and he does have mild ADHD and he was also diagnosed with ODD (oppositional defiant disorder).  The doctor is very optimistic that he may grow out of it but we have chosen to put him on a low dose of Adderall because of the problems he is having at school.  We really want to get a handle on it before he starts school. It is so hard to shake a "bad kid" label once it is placed on you and we don't want that for him.  He is doing much better. He is so stinkin' smart though.  He just soaks everything up.

Xander is doing well.  He loves his new class in child care.  He is now in the oldest class at the child care that he goes to.  We had his tubes taken out of his ears this fall and I think it is making a difference in his speech.  He had so many ear infections all the time that I don't think he was hearing well.  He still has some ways to go.  He has a real hard time with some sounds like s, but I don't think it will be a long term problem.  We had him allergy tested and he has some really high allergies to mold.  That probably explains the problems he had in Cartersville.  When we moved from there, I took down the wall paper in the kitchen and found mold growing underneath.  He will be starting allergy shots and hopefully in a few years he will not have to deal with the eczema that now deals with.

I can not believe that the babies will be a year old this Sunday.  It is crazy.  I can't believe that Cameron will be 5 in April and Xander will be 4 in May.  Time flies.

Hope all is well with everyone.  Love to all.

How old is Cameron? Noah is 3 and I want to get him checked out as well he is getting to be unbearable, he's been sent home so much that he is not in child care now I got tired of it all.

@captkisha - Cameron is 4, almost 5.  I don't think that they can test him at three but I am not an expert.  Cameron did ok in childcare, it was when he went to school and had to sit and be in a structured environment that he had a problem.  It was not that he wouldn't sit still, or got into trouble for behavioral issues, it was that he could not focus to do his work.  He would answer all of the questions out of turn because he has impulse issues.  He can not focus long enough to think through what he is doing.  He does everything on impulse and it was causing problems for him as well as the other children in his class.  They were very reluctant to put him on meds this young but we all agreed that right now it is what is best because we had already tried everything else on the psychologists list to do.

Where has time gone?  Hard to believe the babies will be 1!  Thanks for the prayers for Millie.  She is such a sweetheart!  We went through all the allergy stuff with Amanda when she was small and mold was top on her list too.  The allergy shots helped a lot - she didn't have as many asthma attacks and ear infections.  Are you going to the scrapbooking weekend in March?  I'll be there!  Take care!

@slvrstrmom - I will be at the scrapbooking retreat.  Can't wait to see ya there :)

@strmrayne - Amanda called this morning and said that scrap weekend is filled up already - she can't even register any of her corps ladies.  I'm so bummed!  Maybe I'll see you at Women's Camp!  Later!............

@slvrstrmom - That is crazy.  I can't believe it filled up already, they just sent out the stuff for it like two weeks ago.
